The CCO Mario Mieli APS is a Third Sector Organization registered with RUNTS (National third Sector register) in the Social Promotion Association section.
Since its founding in 1983, it has been dealing with HIV and other Sexually
Transmitted Infections, with prevention, information and support activities
(also in schools).
In 2012, it opened a Community Based Center (Checkpoint), with peer operators, where free Rapid Tests for HIV, Syphilis and Hepatitis C are carried out
(also in outreach activities or Street Units at LGBT+ meeting places).
Since 2024 it has a PrEP service, in agreement with the INMI Lazzaro Spallanzani.
