IREOS

The IREOS Association, based in Florence, is a self-managed service center for the queer community. It operates as a voluntary association, offering a variety of services and activities aimed at promoting the mental and physical health and well-being of LGBTQIA+ people.

Services offered:

· Psychological support: IREOS provides individual and group psychological counseling to address issues related to gender identity, sexual orientation and other personal issues.

· Self-help groups: The association organizes support groups where people can share their experiences and find mutual support.

Legal advice: Legal assistance is offered on issues related to civil rights, discrimination and other legal issues that may affect the LGBTQIA+ community.

Awareness-raising and training activities: IREOS promotes events, workshops and training courses to raise awareness of LGBTQIA+ issues in society and promote inclusion and respect for diversity.

Health services: The association offers information and prevention services regarding sexually transmitted diseases, as well as screening campaigns and free tests.

In particular, in the field of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), Ireos operates through:

· Information and awareness: IREOS organizes information campaigns on sexually transmitted diseases to educate the community on the importance of prevention, risky behavior and modes of transmission. This also includes fun activities and the organization of themed events.

· Free screening and testing: The association promotes access to free testing for HIV and other STDs, in collaboration with qualified health professionals. These tests are often carried out in a confidential and welcoming environment, to ensure maximum respect for privacy.

· Counseling and support: A dedicated counseling service is provided for anyone who needs clarification or support regarding diagnosis, treatment or prevention methods.
